Sparkle’s Mediterranean submarine network spans over a distance of approximately 11,000 km linking Italy, Greece, Cyprus, Turkey and Israel. Throughout these countries and specifically in the cities of Catania, Athens (Metamorfosis and Koropi), Chania, and Istanbul, our company has privately owned Data Centers.

TI Sparkle Greece manages and operates the entire infrastructure within the country, including the backbone network and four data centers: Metamorfosis, Metamorfosis II, Koropi in Athens, and Chania in Crete.

The need

Launched in 2021, the new data center offers about 6,000 m² of space and a modular design to accommodate. It is designed to guarantee the maximum standards of reliability and performance while minimizing its impact on the environment, thanks to the adoption of the latest energy-efficient power and cooling systems available in the market. Therefor an extensive Building Automation System was a requirement in order  to secure at maximum all the data center operations and the 99.999% off power availability, which is one of the best in class in Europe.

Extrabit was awarded the final design and build of the Building Automation System and the Energy Management System of the data center.
